MEET THE CHEF
Keri Jordan-Leander is a self-taught baker, born and raised in Mt. Airy (Philadelphia), but currently growing roots in NYC.
One random evening in early 2016, Keri’s significant other complained of not having any sweet treats to snack on at home. With her instinctive creative abilities and natural culinary intuition, Keri whipped up a batch of sweet treats so decadent, her spouse urged her to share these flavor combinations with the world. Thus, Abstract Tart was born.
After baking hundreds of tarts, Keri went on to successfully vend at her first NYC street fair in September of 2016. Word quickly spread regarding these delicious treats, which influenced Keri to launch AbstractTart, a website and then begin fulfilling catering orders.
Keri attributes her inspiration to her Grandmother, who (when in her 20’s) generously invited her to cook an entire Thanksgiving dinner for the family in her kitchen...and we ALL know that is a complete honor! Additionally, Keri is thankful for her father, who cooked and baked a wide array of late-night goodies for her and her sister when they were children.
Now, amidst the unforeseen onslaught of a pandemic, Keri has quickly pivoted to share some of her absolute favorite recipes by hosting virtual cooking classes. She loves interacting and assisting people to prepare high quality, quick dishes/desserts/brunch items that would normally be purchased or made "out of the box". She guarantees you'll be surprised by what you can make in just one hour!
Keri currently resides in Manhattan, where she spends countless hours concocting delectable recipes to add to her “AbstractTart" menu.
